Immigration has occurred in most people’s lives as well as my ancestor’s. Many people leave their countries to come to the United States for mainly the same reasons but with little twists to go right back to their original countries from which they came. It could be the parents who left for the U.S., or the grandparents, or even the great-grandparents.

Both sides of my family happened to come from different countries. I will give you the facts on how my families got to the U.S. and where they came from, as well as why they did it. Many people go to the United States to find a better life and provide their family with supplies until they are ready to settle off and have lives of their own. Some come here make money here and leave straight back to their own country to become wealthy over there. I am sure the reasons my ancestor’s came here was to make sure we all had better lives when we grew up. I for one can say that I’ve been living a great life. I’ve seen how their houses here look and see how it wasn’t much, but it was enough to get us ready to settle off and upgrade over time.

My parent's family's countries of origin before coming to the U.S. are quite different from each other’s. My mom’s side of the family came from Mexico. My dad’s side came from a couple different places. My Grandma from my dad’s side is Sicilian, or Italian. My Grandpa is half white, a quarter Norwegian, and a quarter German. To break it down, my dad is half White and half Italian. But we know he is a couple other mixes. I am half Mexican, a quarter Italian, and a quarter white. My appearances though make it look though as I were just plain white. My great- grandma from my dad’s side came to the U.S. with her mom from Sicily and must of taken a boat to get across. I don’t see another way.

My grandpa: I don’t have details of who came before him, but he was born here, As well as his parents. My great-grandparents from my mom’s side both came from Mexico. My grandpa came here first and started working at a train track. He made enough money and bought a home then my grandma came right after and lived together. There is some uncertainty of how exactly they arrived to the U.S. That is my families immigration story. After living in moderate homes that helped especially my uncle’s and aunt’s get nicer homes. Everyone I hang around with have stories of their own. Everyone else does even though they might not believe it. All they have to do is ask.
