The United States is the dream land for a reason. Every other place in the world has rules and nothing close to the freedom offered in the U.S. that's why people come america. Freedom, Jobs, and a better why of life.

My family also immigrated over here. My parents came to the U.S. for a better life. Back in Iran life was okay but there was no room for improvement. The president was more like a dictator. That is one of the main reasons I think people risk so much to come over here. Some of the other nations over seas are the same. Some of those nation have very strict travel laws. Just like Iran. My parents left during the Iranian revolution. My dad says that they left during the last second possible. My parents where already married by the time they left. My two Uncles were already here in the U.S. My parents left during the begining of the revolution. This was a very hard time to leave. But because of all the confusion my parents sliped out just in time. They left to Italy to live with my uncle and my grandparents. They lived there for about Five monthes. They visited different places in Italy. In my opinion If Italy alowed none Italians to buy houses and live there I think my parents would have stayed. But they soon came over to the U.S. with some help and all the legal papers they needed. My parents left during the 1980's. They arrived in Glendale California sometime during late 1988 to early 1989.

I was born here in Hollywood on December 21, 1989. At first it was hard for my parents. My Dad had many odd jobs over the first few years. He even had two jobs at the same time for a while. But unlike many other immigrants we had a stable place to live. We had an apartment. I started school when i was about four years old. I started in preschool. My Mom went to beauty school to become a cosmotoligist. She now owns her own beauty salon. My Dad worked at the post office a few years after he got here with my mom. He is now a supervisor for many different offices. I have the option to become anything I want to be. That is why my parents did what they did to get here. They had to escape and they did it for a very good reason. I know my parents journey over here was hard. But i know many people whose parents had a lot harder time getting over here. As I said before my parents got out of the country at the last possible moment. Even now, 20 years later with no revolution or anything of that kind, it still took my uncle on my mom's side a year and a half to get papers and legaly make it over here with his family. People come here for different reasons. Some journeys are harder than others. But its something that will change your life.
