My parents journey began when they came to the United States when they were both 17. My dad came from Mexico and my mom came from El Salvador.They both came for different reasons. My father came to look for a job and to get away from his family's problems. My mom came here because there was a war going on and she did not want to be there and see her family go through it. They didn't know each other when they came here, but they did attend the same school Hoover High. My dad started working in a restaurant in Glendale. He was a dishwasher and a busboy. He really liked his job but he wanted to do something else to earn more money. He started working in carpet installment he quit the other job and started to like how he made his money the way. He hoped for enough for the rent and food. My mom got a job in housekeeping she got to meet lots of nice people and made enough money for her, my sister and grandma. My mom got to meet celebrities and clean their houses. Michael Jackson was one of them. My parents have made a change in their lives and they are both glad that they got the chance to come to the United States and to get the opputunity to work and make their wishes come true.
