My name is Chris Pak. My family came from South Korea and it included my mother, uncle, and my grandparents. My family went through personal hardships and also war troubles. This is their story, and their impact on history.
My mother was in middle school when the accident happened. She was involved in a car accident which put her in critical condition. On top of that, my family was living harshly through the Korean War. They were evading raids and attacks from the opposng force. My mothers harships tore my family apart, emotionally. They had to help my mother get better. My family decided to leave Korea and travel to the U.S. to seek greater medical attention for my mother. My family sold everything they had so they did not have to leave anything behind. My family made all the money they could to survive in the land of the free. Their next flight was to America. It was very fortunate for my family to have had enough money to take a plane to the U.S. When they arrived in America, they were lost. It took them almost a week to find my aunt who liven in Lancaster, CA. Once they found a place to live and adapt to their new environment, they searched for a month straight and found a Korean, American doctor in Los Angeles. My mother recieved treatment as time passed.
My mother eventally got better. She did not feel pain anymore when walking. There was nothing left for my mother to treat or heal her disability. Doctors could not treat my mother anymore, but the trip to America was very much worth the price. My mother and family overcame the problem and lived on with their lives. They became successful by making more than enough money. They would soon buy larger houses, expensive cars, and much more. Traveling to America was one of my family's greatest decisions.
